New Show Hours

New Show Hours BookExpo 2019 will have new show hours throughout the week. These updated hours will give you more time on the Trade Show Floor to meet with publishers, interact with authors and network with colleagues. The hours are as follows:

  • Wednesday, May 29: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • Thursday, May 30: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Friday, May 31: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

UnBound at BookExpo and BookCon

UnBound at BookExpo and BookConUnBound is a new show debuting with BookExpo and BookCon at the Javits Center May 29 through June 2. We're making it easy for booksellers and retailers to expand their sidelines departments to meet customer demand. Wholesale the latest bookish products your customers are looking for! When BookExpo closes and BookCon opens, UnBound will give BookCon fans the chance to shop exciting goods for their bookstagrams and more. Learn more here.


New York Rights Fair Co-location

New York Rights Fair Co-locationThis year BookExpo and New York Rights Fair are co-locating to give industry professionals the opportunity to experience both events in one place. Together, these two shows impact every part of the book business in every corner of the globe. Publishers, rights professionals, agents, scouts, film producers, acquisitions editors and other attendees will discuss rights sales and the distribution of content across all formats, including print, audio, film and television. We’re introducing two new stages to the Show Floor this year!
The Choice Stage located in the 2300 aisle features curated content showcasing hot new titles, high-profile publishers & new UnBound sessions. The Independent Publishers Stage A.K.A. The Indie Stage also located on the show floor is the newest destination for attendees to discover the latest books & authors from countless independent publishers. The Vital Bookstore curated by Franklin Fixtures—Reshaped!

Vital Bookstore

The premier of the Vital Bookstore learning space last year was incredibly well received and has been reshaped to help both libraries and booksellers do deeper dives on the important topics of Visual Display, Pattern Languages and Fixture Fundamentals. Attend workshops with others in your industry or explore on your own with self-paced learning centers. Learn more and see the schedule.

Editors Speed Dating (pre-registration required):Based on bookseller feedback, for the first time, BookExpo and the ABA are excited to debut Editors Speed Dating. ABA member bookstore owners, managers, and event coordinators meet one-on-one with editors from several publishers from among the participating companies. During the timed “dates,” booksellers have the chance to learn which books delighted editors and will be popular with your customers throughout 2019 and early 2020.

Publicists Speed Dating (pre-registration required): The hugely popular Publicists Speed Dating will only be held once in 2019. ABA member bookstore owners, managers, and event coordinators meet one-on-one with publicists from several publishers from among the participating companies. During the timed “dates,” booksellers have the chance to promote their stores and discover what publicists look for when planning author tours.
