The BookExpo Reader Pass and Avid Reader Pass gives you a premium Autographing experience by bringing you face-to-face with your favorite author without waiting in line!

To support the Book Industry Foundation, you can purchase either the Reader Pass or the Avid Reader Pass. These passes are available as add-ons after you have selected your ticket type in Registration.

The Avid Reader Pass

The Avid Reader Pass grants you access to select your ticketed author tickets online weeks before BookExpo! This tax deductible donation grants you exclusive access to choose tickets for the high-profile author appearances in the Autographing Area. In addition to selecting your tickets online, the Avid Reader Pass also includes one (1) front of the line pass. The front of the line pass can be used on any one book signing in the Autographing Area and will allow you to skip to the front of the line*.

* A front of the line pass can be used for a ticketed author signing or a non-ticketed author signing. Pass holder must have a ticket for the ticketed author signing in order to use the front of the line pass.

Reader Pass

Want to experience your favorite author without waiting in line? Purchase the Reader Pass today!

The Reader Pass grants you one (1) front of the line pass. The front of the line pass can be used on any one book signing in the Autographing Area and will allow you to skip to the front of the line. In order for the pass to be used for a ticketed author signing session, the pass holder must also have a ticket.

FAQs

If I purchase an Avid Reader Pass or a Reader Pass, how will I receive my passes?
If you purchase the Avid Reader Pass ($110) then you will receive all of your tickets and your front of the line pass upon arriving at Registration. If you purchase the Reader Pass ($60) then you will receive your front of the line pass upon arriving at Registration.

Do I need a ticket to access all of the authors in Autographing?
No! There are typically 200 author signing sessions in the Autographing Area and out of those 200, only 15 – 25 authors require a ticket.

Is there any way to get a ticket for a “ticketed author” for free?
Yes! Free tickets are distributed in the Javits Center Crystal Palace lobby on Thursday and Friday morning at 7:30 AM. If you would prefer not to pay for an Avid Reader Pass , please go to the Javits Center at 7:30 AM to obtain a free ticket. Tickets are limited and determined by each publisher.

If I have a ticket for a ticketed author, am I guaranteed to meet the author?
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that everyone will meet and get a book signed by each ticketed author. If you have a ticket, the signings are still first come, first served.

Are both programs tax deductible?
Yes, both programs support the Book Industry Foundation.
