Author Stages
Downtown & Uptown Author Stages
The Downtown Author Stage sponsored by Innodata and Uptown Author Stage at BEA feature authors in an interview format, discussing their books and sharing their back stories with media, booksellers, and all industry professionals. These are just another ideal way to meet and greet, and to learn from the authors themselves about the subjects they care most about.
Stop by the Downtown Author Stage sponsored by Innodata (Booth #DZ2000) and Uptown Author Stage (Booth #4576) the to see these live author interviews right on the show floor!
Autographing
BEA boasts the largest author autographing program in the US!
Authors, authors, and more authors at this year's BookExpo America (BEA) Autographing Area—this is your best opportunity to meet them all one-on-one, from best-selling to first-time and up-and-coming, representing a full spectrum of topic areas. The 2012 Autographing Area will feature more than 600 author signings, including some of the best in the industry.
There truly is "something for everyone" in the Autographing Area. Your BEA Attendee Show Badge provides full access to the Autographing Area (see below for special Ticketed Author information.)
- Ticketed Authors—a limited number of complimentary tickets will be issued for celebrity and high-profile authors. Tickets will be distributed on-site on a first-come, first-served basis. View the 2012 BEA Ticketed Authors
- In-Booth Autographing—In addition to authors appearing in the Autographing Area, many more authors may be found signing right in their publishers' booths. Discuss upcoming books with publishers and meet their authors at the same time.
The Reader's Pass and the Avid Reader's Pass Programs—SOLD OUT!
(formerly the Gold Pass and the Platinum Pass Programs)
To support the Book Industry Foundation, a $1 nominal fee per autographed book is requested in the Autographing Area. However, BEA offers the Reader's Pass Program (formerly the Gold Pass) and the Avid Reader's Pass (formerly the Platinum Pass), which cover the requested donation for all of your autographed books with a one-time donation. These are both extremely limited so we recommend early registration. Unfortunately, these are both sold out for BEA 2012.
The Reader's Pass Program covers the requested donation for all of your autographed books with a one-time $45 donation. It also offers several benefits to enhance your autographing experience such as a "Front of the Line Pass," a "one-time" pass allowing you to by-pass the crowds and go to the front of any one author's line. For your support of the Book Industry Foundation, you will also be eligible for several exciting drawings which will take place in the Autographing Area at BEA.
The Avid Reader's Pass (formerly the Platinum Pass) provides the following benefits in addition to the benefits of the Reader's Pass: Your choice of four (4) ticketed authors for each day... in advance! No standing in line in the early morning to receive autographing tickets for your chosen authors—choose your authors in advance and have your tickets waiting for you in registration! Participation in the Avid Reader's Pass program requires a donation of $95 to the Book Industry Foundation.
*Please note: All proceeds from the Reader's Pass and Avid Reader's Pass will go to the Book Industry Foundation which supports ABFFE and ABA's "Get Caught Reading" programs. For more information on these programs, please visit the BEA Cares page.
Want to showcase your author in the Autographing Area at BEA?
Many booksellers have credited the autographing program for helping them discover some of the best new works at BEA each year. For Exhibitors/Publishers interested in participating in the Autographing Area, contact Beth Oliveras, Autographing Program Coordinator, at betholiveras@yahoo.com or 203-979-7828.
