Porter Anderson ( @Porter_Anderson ) BA, MA, MFA, is a journalist, speaker, and consultant specializing in book publishing. Formerly with CNN, the Village Voice, the Dallas Times Herald, and other media, he is Editor-in-Chief of Publishing Perspectives, founded by Frankfurt Book Fair New York, the magazine for the international publishing industry.

With Jane Friedman, he produces The Hot Sheet publishing-industry newsletter, providing expert analysis and interpretation in a private subscription bulletin format, expressly for traditionally publishing and self-publishing authors. With Friedman, he programmed the new DBW Indie Author conference in New York in January 2017, as a Hot Sheet project. Anderson also writes the #MusicForWriters series on contemporary composers for Thought Catalog.

Anderson also has guided The FutureBook’s coverage of digital publishing for The Bookseller in the UK and led the development of its inaugural Author Day conference in London.

This year under the aegis of his Porter Anderson Media consultancy, Anderson will be speaking, covering and/or programming events at major publishing events including London Book Fair, Publishers Forum in Berlin, BookExpo in New York, the Women’s Fiction conference in Matera, Italy, The Muse and the Marketplace in Boston, Frankfurt Book Fair, Books in Browsers,The FutureBook, Sharjah International Book Fair in the United Arab Emirates, Nielsen Children’s Book Summit, StoryDrive Asia in Singapore, and many more.

David Burleigh is Director of Brand & Marketing Communication at OverDrive, the leading eBook and digital media platform for libraries and schools. In this role, he leads the company’s brand marketing efforts as well as paid, owned and earned media activities targeting both B2B and B2C markets. David has more than 20 years of experience in marketing global products and services in a variety of industries, including professional services, healthcare and technology. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northwestern University, including an M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications.

Annie Stone, International Account Manager, BookBub

 

Annie Stone is the international account manager at BookBub, where she works with publishers in the UK, Canada, and Australia to promote great books and get new authors discovered. Before joining BookBub, Annie worked as an editor at Alloy Entertainment, Harlequin TEEN, and HarperCollins, focusing on YA and middle grade fiction. A graduate of Harvard University, Annie lives in Cambridge, MA.
