Reserving a Table at the IRC
The IRC at BEA is a cost-effective and convenient way to conduct rights business. Reserved exclusively for use by its members, the IRC admits other parties by appointment only.
The IRC at BEA features more than 200 tables.
If you would like to reserve a table in the International Rights Center at BEA, or have a question about participating, contact Lisa Montanaro at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Reaching Agents during BEA
The International Rights Center is a key area of the show where a wide range of literary agents are based.
Please be aware that the majority of these agents will already have a full schedule of meetings. Although there are exceptions, the IRC is generally not the environment to approach agents to represent you and your book. The IRC is predominantly used by agents to sell rights to books for authors they already represent.
If you are looking for an agent to represent you, we advise you follow these steps before the show::
- Find out which agencies to approach—some specialize in certain areas such as romance, crime, etc.
- Before sending your manuscript, find out how best to submit your work to each agency (ie. a synopsis, a chapter, etc.) as different agencies may have different processes
- Contact the agencies directly to pre-arrange an appointment at BEA
The online exhibitor directory and the official printed directory (available on-site) will give you the names of the agencies who will be at BEA. By request of the agencies, we are unable to give contact details unless they have specified otherwise.
*Please note that there is no entry into the IRC without an appointment and by checking Add to My BEA Show Planner does not guarantee appointments and/or meetings with agents.
