Norwalk, CT, December 3, 2009: BookExpo America (BEA) in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of Spain, the Federation of Spanish Publishers (Federacion De Gremios De Editores De Espana) and the Spanish Trade Commission are delighted to announce that Spain and Spanish Publishing will be the focus of the highly regarded BEA Global Market Forum program. The Global Market Forum will be a highlighted feature at BookExpo America 2010, the largest gathering of publishing professionals in the United States of America. BEA will take place at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City, May 25 – 27, 2010.
The powerful Spanish publishing industry is eager to embrace the opportunity to engage the large Spanish language readership in the USA, and beyond.
Spanish reading has developed a mainstream audience in the US, while Spanish language literature is successfully translated and gaining wide recognition with English language readers. The Spanish publishing industry continues to expand in powerful and innovative ways.
Together this will make the "BEA Global Market Forum: Spanish Publishing" an outstanding opportunity to both explore new fields for business co-operations and reading.
The presentations under the banner of this event will include a one day series of educational conference programs at BEA on May 25, 2010. Concurrently, BEA is also seeking cooperation with numerous literary and cultural institutions in New York City to provide programming which extends beyond the convention center and which will be open to the public. Discussions are currently underway with the 92nd St. Y, The New York Public Library, The Brooklyn Public Library, among others.
The "BEA Global Market Forum: Spanish Publishing" follows up on the highly successful presentation of the "Arab World" at BEA 2009.
