Digital Book 2010 Conference and Exhibits to be Integrated with BEA at Javits Center

Norwalk, CT, November 9, 2009: Officials at the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) and BookExpo America (BEA) have today announced a partnership which will bring the highly regarded IDPF Digital Book 2010 Conference to the Javits Center during BEA, May 25 – 27, 2010. The IDPF Digital Book Conference, which has consistently been sold-out in past years, has traditionally taken place in New York City a few weeks prior to BEA. The integration of the IDPF eBook educational programs and networking events with BEA will allow attendees to take full advantage of the expertise and professional knowledge that both these events provide while providing a maximum time and cost benefit. Officials note that there will be a separate fee for the Digital Book 2010 Conference that will include admission to BookExpo America.

“This is a clear win for all stakeholders in the publishing and bookselling industry,” notes Lance Fensterman, Vice President and Show Manager for BookExpo America. “The integration of the IDPF Digital Book 2010 Conference with North America’s premier book event next year ensures that the best and brightest from the whole world of publishing will be attending both events and presenting the best information on digital book technologies and the latest developments for profiting from the eBook explosion. BEA wins, IDPF wins, but our attendees are the biggest winners of all, which is always our primary objective.”

“By coordinating IDPF Digital Book 2010 in partnership with BookExpo America everyone with an interest in eBooks can maximize their travel and trade show budgets at one event”, stated Michael Smith, IDPF Executive Director. “IDPF Digital Book 2010 will benefit from the hundreds of CEOs, entrepreneurs, new device manufacturers, and the thousands of publishers and booksellers already coming to Javits to learn about new devices, business models, and best practices to profit from the digital book market”.

Officials note that BEA’s New Media Zone, which will be located outside the press office on the show floor, and which will provide free Wi-Fi access to bloggers and other members of the press, will be re-named the IDPF Digital Book Zone and a specially designed stage will be built for ongoing IDPF presentations during BEA. Registration for the IDPF Digital Book 2010 Conference will be facilitated by BEA and IDPF logo and art will be utilized in signage and fully integrated in other promotional and marketing materials. “The IDPF represents leading technology, publishing, and bookselling companies from all over the globe developing eBook standards and promoting the growth of the digital book industry. Their education and networking programs have been the gold standard in the development and promotion of electronic publishing,” Fensterman concludes. “We are extremely pleased to have them as our partner at BEA.”
