Steve Rosato is Named Event Director at BookExpo America


Norwalk, CT, January 5, 2010: Officials at BookExpo America (BEA) have today announced that they have promoted Steven Rosato, a fifteen year veteran of the company, to the position of Event Director of BookExpo America (BEA). Mr. Rosato has long been associated with BEA, having begun his work on the show in 1998 and has since served in various key sales and strategic positions. Rosato has most recently served as Director of Industry Development & Strategic Accounts for BEA, where he has played a critical role in helping to define and set BEA’S goals for the future based on customer feedback. Rosato will assume his new responsibilities effective immediately.

“Steve has an incredibly deep knowledge base of book industry issues and he has an intuitive sense of our customers’ needs,” notes Courtney Muller, Senior Vice President in charge of BEA. “I couldn’t be happier that he has achieved this position of leadership for BEA which he has earned through many years of hard work. Steve has built many strong relationships with people throughout the book industry and I am confident that he will receive tremendous support from the professional community as he continues to seek ways to make BEA meaningful to our many constituents.”

Through his years of work on BEA, Steve Rosato has delivered a number of key initiatives which have enabled BEA to be the dominant book fair in North America as well as one of the leading publishing events in the world. These initiatives include his work to expand the Global Market Forum program, which featured Books and Publishing in the Arab World in 2009; growing the librarian attendance at BEA from a few hundred to several thousand; and executing a partnership with the International Digital Publishers Forum that will be a highlight of BookExpo America in 2010. In addition to facilitating the participation of all the major U.S. publishing houses trade divisions in BookExpo America, Rosato has also been responsible for the International Rights Center (IRC) and the relationship with the IRC’s sponsor, the Association of Author Representatives (ARR).
