Sally Dedecker Named to Direct BEA Conference Program!


Newly Named Executive Brings Over 30 Years of Publishing Experience to the Job

Norwalk, CT, August 9, 2011:  Sally Dedecker has been named BEA’s new Director of Education. She will be principally responsible for producing and executing the BEA Conference Program, which includes curating the program content as well as securing all the speakers.  Ms. Dedecker has her own consultancy business, Sally Dedecker Enterprises, and will be adding her BEA responsibilities to her list of business activities.  In addition to overseeing the BEA Conference, she will also lead the BEA Conference Advisory Board; work with BEA staff to create programming for the BEA Insight Author Stages; as well as oversee and produce the BEA DIY Conference.  Additionally, Dedecker will continue to work with BEA on producing a series of webinars over the course of the year which will provide practical hands on information about reaching and engaging readers.

In her new role, Sally Dedecker will be in communication with all members of the industry to involve them in conversations about informational and educational sessions and events that will offer new strategies and technologies to engage readers.  Ms. Dedecker states: “I am thrilled to be working with the BEA team.  It is important for the BEA Conference program to be a collaborative effort and so my first task is to listen to the industry and engage more individuals and companies in the process.  As a consultant I have the opportunity to work with a wide range of companies and so bringing this insight to developing programs and events that will add to the BEA experience is a target for me.  I am looking forward to getting started!”
