The Poet of Christmas and the New York Historical Society

Twas The Night Before Christmas has been called the most famous poem in the English language. The writing of this poem has generally been credited to Clement C Moore, himself a member of the New York Historical Society; however, it could well have been inspired by the creative minds of Henry Livingston or Washington Irving—both also members of the New York Historical Society. A new edition, edited by no other than Santa Claus himself, for the benefit of children of the 21st century will be read outloud and ebook copies of this splendid new edition will be given out to attendees in recognition of World Environment Day, June 5. How do these authors craft novels that both teens and adults enjoy? Whether their characters are parents reconnecting with their teenage children or teens battling high school bullies or vampires, each author offers readers a glimpse into teenage life-the milestones, the angst, the blissful moments-that both teens and parents can relate to. Moderated by Lev Grossman, author of the New York Times bestselling novels, The Magicians and The Magician King, these authors discuss books that appeal to readers of all ages. In celebration of "New York Book and Media Week", free goodie bags will be given to attendees while supplies last!
