Media Buzz

BEA played host to 1085 members of the media in 2007. The convention generated enormous press coverage and it put many publishers and their books on TV screens and in the pages of many leading newspapers and magazines. C-Span was at the convention providing "opening to closing" coverage; 60 Minutes sent two camera crews to gather b-roll for interviews they are doing on two big Fall 2007 titles; Access Hollywood featured a segment; the Associated Press, Reuters, Bloomberg, among other wire services, filed major pieces (in particular, the stories filed by Hillel Italie at the Associated Press were picked up by hundreds of newspapers throughout the country); and both out-of-town as well as the major NYC metropolitan papers thoroughly covered BEA convention activity. Notably, coverage of BEA on Internet blogs rose dramatically this year and convention officials expect this to be a trend that will continue well into the future.
