I'm a first time attendee, what do I do?

Get started by checking out the top 7 things you need to make the most out of your visit to BEA.

How do I register?
  • Attendee Registration—Register Today.
  • Exhibitor Registration—You can register for your exhibitor badges by logging in to the Exhibitor Dashboard and clicking on the orange 'REGISTER FOR EXHIBTOR BADGES" button on the right of the page.
    • Note: All exhibitors are required to have a BEA Exhibitor Badge to access the exhibit floor. Each exhibiting company will receive an allotment of badges based on booth size. View the 2013 badge allotment information.
  • Press/Media Registration
    • Editorial media include writers, reporters, book reviewers, producers or on-air personalities who are attending BEA specifically to write about the show and/or cover the event for newspapers, magazines, TV, radio, and Internet; or to gain access to authors and their books for possible review and/or feature coverage. You will be required to provide editorial credentials. Register here for editorial media.
    • Non-Editorial media include all other personnel at media companies. Register here for Non-Editorial media.
How much does it cost to attend BEA?

What does my registration include?

Your Attendee Show Badge gives you access to:

  • Exhibition Halls featuring 1,300+ companies
  • Autographing Sessions highlighting over 500 authors
  • BEA Conference Program—4-Day Attendee Show Badge allows you access to Free BEA Conference Sessions throughout the event; 1-Day Attendee Show Badge allows you access to Free BEA Conference Sessions only on the day of your Pass
  • Access to Hot Deal Show Specials on-site
  • Access to Special Segment Areas on the exhibit floor.
When will I receive my attendee badge?

We will no longer mail badges before the show. Simply print the email confirmation you receive when you complete the registration process and bring it with you to the Javits Center. When you get to the show, you'll quickly scan the barcode at the top of the confirmation and your badge will print automatically along with the tickets for special events you have signed up for.

Can I bring a rolling cart to carry books?

No. Carts, luggage on wheels, and empty strollers will NOT be allowed in the exhibit hall during show hours. Exhibitors needing such items for legitimate business purposes will be allowed access at the opening and closing of business each day. This is a safety issue and no exceptions will be made.

Can I bring my child to BEA?

Anyone under the age of 18 (minors and infants) will only be permitted to register to attend if accompanied by a registered industry professional. Children under the age of 10 are free with a registered industry professional. Please contact Client Services at 800-840-5614 or 203-840-5614 to register for a Child Guest badge.

What authors are speaking at the special events?

Do you allow consumers?

Yes, we do allow consumers to attend on the last day of BEA, Saturday, June 1. BEA consumers are referred to as Power Readers and Power Reader tickets can be purchased for only $49. Check out what you can expect to find as a Power Reader at BEA and order your tickets today!

What is a Power Reader?

A Power Reader is a book-loving fan or avid reader (consumer) that we're inviting to BEA this year. Power Reader tickets (only $49) provide access to everything at BEA on Saturday, June 1 at the Javits Center in New York City—hundreds of authors, previews of new books before they hit the shelves, advanced reads of new books, tons of giveaways, and more.
