Submissions for BookExpo and BookCon Special Events – Breakfasts, Panels, Buzz, Education and Author Stages Open Now

Norwalk, CT, October 2, 2017: BookExpo and BookCon 2018 planning is in full swing and officials have opened submissions for the BookExpo Adult and Children’s Author Breakfasts, Author Stages, the Editors’ Buzz Program, Conference Programming and BookCon Panels and Events. All submission forms can be found here: http://searchitfindit.bookexpoamerica.com/forms/.

The Adult and Children’s Author Breakfasts are two of the most sought after events at BookExpo each year, bringing together some of the industry’s leading voices in literature for insightful and lively discussions that have become can’t-miss programming. Previously featured authors include Jamie Lee Curtis, Jesmyn Ward, Congressman John Lewis, Sabaa Tahir, Nathan Lane, Neil Patrick Harris, James Patterson, Colson Whitehead and Rainbow Rowell.

The ultimate Fan event for book lovers, BookCon is seeking Panel submissions to help top the stellar programming lineup seen last year that truly featured something for everyone. BookCon 2017 Panels and meet-and-greets featured more than 100 best-selling authors including Kevin Hart, Veronica Roth, Margaret Atwood, Bill Nye, Ryan Higa, Mayim Bialik and Nicola Yoon.

“BookExpo and BookCon combine to make the biggest publishing event of the year which is due in large part to the amazing content we program,” said Brien McDonald, Event Director. “We‘re looking forward to working with publishers and talent to make 2018 our best event yet. We set the bar high in 2017 with esteemed authors like Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Senator Al Franken and Jason Reynolds and we’re excited to do it again. ”

The Editors‘ Buzz Program - including BookExpo Adult Editors' Buzz, BookExpo Young Adult Editors' Buzz and BookExpo Middle Grade Editors' Buzz - has been credited with finding top talent and first-time best-sellers. The program today opened its doors once again for exhibitors to submit an upcoming publication of a new author or a breakout book from an author who has published before, but with no bestseller credentials.

The deadline for the Author Breakfasts and Stages, Editors‘ Buzz Program and BookCon Panel submissions is Friday, November 17, 2017. The deadline for conference programming, including the BookExpo Education Conference and Global Market Forum is Friday, December 15, 2017.

Officials at BookExpo note that Buzz submissions require extensive review and while there is a deadline of Friday, November 17, 2017 the sooner submissions are received, the better. All exhibiting publishers at BookExpo are encouraged to get their applications in immediately in order to be considered and to give committee members time to appropriately review and read the submissions. BookExpo Buzz submissions are reserved exclusively for BookExpo exhibiting publishers.

BookExpo, North America’s largest gathering of book industry professionals from around the globe and BookCon, the consumer extension of the show, combine to make the ultimate event destination for the publishing industry and booklovers worldwide.
