Rights and licensing at BookExpo America (BEA) receives special attention, making BEA the largest North American book fair where literary rights are bought or sold.
The United States is the biggest book market in the world—with a volume of $35 billion US dollars, exceeding the total market volume of the next four countries put together. It is this volume of business that is represented by more than 2,000 publishers, or which 800 are unique to BEA, making it such an exclusive opportunity.
Publishers, agents, scouts, screen agents, producers and other rights professional make BEA a must attend event for anyone involved in the publishing or entertainment industry.
Rights activity happens throughout BEA—on the show floor, in private meting rooms or in the BEA International Rights and Business Center. Most rights activity occurs through pre-set appointments between publishers and agents, producers, screen agents, etc.
