Important Tax Information for Retails Sales on Saturday, June 1

BEA is permitting smaller exhibitors and remainders companies to sell direct to consumers on Saturday, June 1. If your booth is in the Remainders Pavilion or is less than 300 sq. ft., you will be permitted to sell product from the show floor at BEA as long as you are registered with the State of New York with a NY Tax ID #. All pertinent information needed to secure a NY Tax ID # can be found on this page. We do not have a baseline on what kind of demand there will be, only suggesting that it will be modest.

Exhibitor Insurance

  • General Liability Insurance is a great program for
    1. Smaller exhibitors who do not have insurance
    2. Larger exhibitors who do not want to use their own insurance
    3. Foreign exhibitors whose insurance will not pay a claim that is brought in a US court.

Exhibitor Event Cancellation Insurance is also available, which protects exhibitors against loss of incurred expenses (hotel rooms, airfare etc.)

Exhibitor Alerts!

BEWARE of the Fair Guide
Reed Exhibitions and BookExpo America (BEA) do NOT support the Fair Guide—it is NOT affiliated with Reed Exhibitions or BEA. Please be aware that you may receive solicitations for the Fair Guide from Construct Data, its publisher, which use the name of BookExpo America (BEA)—do not be fooled. Construct Data currently operates out of Slovakia (it has previously operated out of Austria and Germany).

BEWARE of the Expo-Guide
Reed Exhibitions and BookExpo America (BEA) also do NOT support the Expo-Guide—it is NOT affiliated with Reed Exhibitions or BEA. Please be aware that you may receive solicitations for the Expo-Guide from Commercial Online Manuals, its publisher, which use the name of BookExpo America (BEA)—again, do not be fooled. The Expo-Guide currently operates out of Mexico.

For further warnings on the Fair Guide and the Expo-Guide, please check out www.stopecg.org (the Web site was set up originally to deal with the European City Guides, but it now addresses the Fair Guide and Expo-Guide as well as several other similar matters).

And please remember—the only directories and guides affiliated with Reed Exhibitions are those published by Reed Exhibitions, including the official show directories. If you have any doubts about a directory/guide solicitation using the BookExpo America (BEA) name (for example, if the solicitation requires payment made to an address in a foreign country), please contact a BEA salesperson ASAP.

BEWARE OF TRAVEL SCAMS

BookExpo America (BEA), in partnership with onPeak, are committed to providing you with the best travel deals around. onPeak is the official travel provider for BEA.

Don't be fooled by offers from other parties using the BookExpo America (BEA) name—they are NOT affiliated with Reed Exhibitions or BookExpo America (BEA). At the very least, prior to booking with a party other than onPeak, please check the prospective vendor's rating at www.bbb.org. Remember, if the offer seems too good to be true, it probably is.
