The BookExpo Reader Pass and Avid Reader Pass gives you a premium Autographing experience by bringing you face-to-face with your favorite author without waiting in line!

To support the Book Industry Foundation, you can purchase either the Reader Pass or the Avid Reader Pass.

The Avid Reader Pass

This $110 tax deductible donation grants you exclusive access to eight ticketed author signings in the Autographing Area and a one-time use Front of the Line Pass, which allows you to skip the line for any one author signing in the Autographing Area.

* In order to use a front of the line pass for a ticketed Author, you must have the Front of the Line Pass and a ticket for the Author.

Can I purchase a Readers pass or Avid Readers Pass at the Show?
No, both programs generally sell out in advance. We suggest you register early for these programs.

What are ticketed authors?
The ticketed authors are well-known authors and celebrities. There are generally between 15 - 20 ticketed Authors in the Autographing Area.. The tickets are handed out two ways, either through the Avid Reader Pass Program OR by standing in line at 7:00 AM at the Javits Center the morning of the Show. These tickets are given out first-come, first-served and are not guaranteed.

What is the front of the line pass?
This is a one-time use skip the line pass available only in the Reader Pass and Avid Reader Pass Program, there is no other way to get a 'front of the line' pass.

I purchased an Avid Reader Pass, how do I pre-select my tickets?
In early May, all Avid Readers will be sent an email with a link to choose their eight tickets. You will have two weeks to choose your tickets. Then, when you arrive to the Show, the tickets will be waiting for you at the Registration Desk.

I purchased a Readers Pass, how do I get my front of the line pass?
When you arrive at the Show, your front of the line pass will be waiting for you at Registration with your Badge.
